The point was stated already, that I prefer the old version. If you have the code for the old version around still, you could offer both modes. A Gmail version, and an old version for simple messaging without it feeling like you're on Gmail.

As I already stated, no I don't have the old version. It is incompatible with the new version.

But the new version merely adds new features on top of the old version, such as better organization. No features are missing, except Delete, which I will be adding soon.

What's odd is that PMs I deleted ages ago are back...

Works better than gmail in a way. Alot of times gmail doesnt pick up on "conversation" type emails that are replies back and forth, but this seems to work great. Is there a maximum amount of 20 messages or does it just show 20 per page?

Yeah. Deleting will return soon. Due to database restrictions I wasn't able to actually remove PMs you "Deleted" from the database before, so they would just become marked as deleted and would no longer appear in the list.

Now, I will make it that you can delete an entire conversation. If both you and the other party delete the same conversation, it will be permanently removed from the database. If only one of you deletes it, it will remain in the database but only one person will be able to see it. This is the only way I can make this work.

Not to be nit picky but...

When the PM message screen where you type it up comes up, theres nothing on the page saying "To Redknight" or whatever, nothing with the name of the recipient at all. Not a very big deal, but I was wondering once, who am I sending this to the right person, and "What if Im posting this in a forum" Which is stupid because if you scroll down you can see previous posts. Anyways,

Screw it Im tired, forgive me for saying anything dumb.

After you're done, Av, will deleted items be really deleted? Or just made hidden. There's some stuff in there I don't want lingering for posterity... All the while when I was dutifully deleting stuff I thought I was being a good Full Member by keeping my personal storage space down.

Each message is in the database only once. So if you send a message to, say, IanK, it will only be in the database once.

However, it will appear in two places: (1) in IanK's inbox, and (2) in your Sent box.

If you hit "delete" on the message in your sent box, and it actually removed it from the database, it would also disappear from IanK's inbox.

This is why I can't actually remove the records from the database until both parties have deleted it.

That said, storage is cheap. Messages are tiny. It's nothing to worry about.

I love it, but didn't the old PMs have spellcheck?

I'll work on it when I get a chance .. it's not that high of a priority, since deleting messages doesn't really make a difference.
