|  | | | Personally I believe that a good GPS unit may be very useful in UE. IF you have any ideas, or experience I would greatly appreciate your post, especially in what kind of a gps system to invest in, brand, model, handheld, PDA, ect.....

|  | | | You will probably get many different opinions here. I am personally a Garmin guy, but there are lots of people out there that like Magellan. I have had a couple Garmin units over the years, but I am currently using this unit: http://www.garmin.com/products/foretrex101/. It doesn’t have all the features of some of the larger color screen units (no built in maps for example), but having a small wrist top unit really works well for UE, hiking, etc.
You should check on the Geocaching forums (http://forums.groundspeak.com/gc/). There you can find out everything you ever wanted to know about GPS receivers. You could search this forum, as I believe it has been discussed here a few times.

| | | | My buddy has a garmin but it's next to useless except marking where the car is, if even (at least for UE, damn useful for other things though).. In the city it's near impossible to get a signal unless your on a bridge over the river.. If your indoors you get no signal.. underground yer screwed as well.. the best reason to have one that I can see if underground and your mapping what entrances are connected..
