| | | Anyone know of anything good in the Hampshire area of England? < on 11/4/2005 2:36 PM >
| | | I'm new to UE and I'd like to visit some places that people may have visited or scouted out before that might be really interesting and easy to get into. Being a newbie and everything, I don't wanna jump the gun or anything and get myself into a spot of trouble. I'd also like to go on a few outings with any other members if they live near me. That would also be an excellent way to get myself started, so I can learn a few things from someone experienced. I'd be very grateful for a few little pointers and locations!

| | | The Eagle pub in Abbotts Anne! Very easy to get into. You may need a taxi home though. [last edit 2/6/2006 9:55 AM by GC Intercept - edited 1 times]

| | | There is a basic guide in section61 zine http://www.section61.com/, it has a few locations by tri-county area, but all rather rough, you'd have to do some research. i might PM you if i look it up.

| | | If you live in the Hampshire, Wiltshire, Salisbury or Dorset area and have a car plus some free time you should be spoilt for choice as far as exploring goes. There is a lot of ex-military infrastructure in that area that should vary between active and disused sites, training areas, logistics, bunkers etc. It could be worth hitting the road to 'on sight' some stuff just to get a feel for the area (but be careful!). I have had some amazing luck in Devon doing just that. My 'hot tip' would be Chilmark area. Thats all Im going to say.
