One of the building is pretty cool. All of the outside walls are windows. And the interior walls are also windows. I need to find a way in, I bet they have a bunch of stuff underground too.

I got some more pics today of the buildings closer up, they are pretty cool. There is a camera at every door =\. There are a ton of man hole covers around though. I know some of them are sewers. But some have to be utility going from one building to the other.

Someone seems to have stollen the d =P

Note is by every single entrance to the place. You can see what looks like a box with 2 black sides near every door. I suppose its the camera.

I've been up there many times to scope the place out and screw around in the parking lot with cars

There are tons of video cameras that are on, the place is alarmed, and there is a security guard there sometimes. He usually hangs out in the garage (picture is in the first set). Right now there is a broken window that is really easy to get in through, just be careful! I may go in this weekend.

I am at the racquet club apartments, less than a minute away, so drop a line and maybe ill join. Actually, the internet at my apartment isnt working right now, so if you head over, just drop by Racquet club, I am the second apartment on the bottom floor on the side of the parking lot as you come in. If I dont come to the door, im not there.

While no one really works there any more, I wouldn't say the facility is 'empty'. I believe there is some security that drops in and roams the halls. In any case, being a former Kodak facility, the place should be locked down fairly tight. The only entrance I remember that didn't need a badge to unlock it, or was alarmed, in the one on south side with the entrance driveway. Even that has several security cameras. Kodak sold the facility off to a developer, so I am not sure how much of the security has carried over.

I actually did alot of training in that facility, and while there I wandered around pretty much the whole place. The building is basically three pieces. The east side (towards River Rd) is demo rooms. basically places where presentations could be given. The middle portion is training rooms (yep classrooms, just like school), and the west side is offices (cubical land) and the cafeteria. The 'curved building' is the cafeteria. It was really impressive inside with gigantic windows. It also had a screen in the ceiling that could be brought down for movies or video conferences.

If you get in, please give us a report! Maybe I'll join you later for an unofficial, unsanctioned, 'tour'.

All the doors are locked, alarmed, and have a camera. One of the windows was broken and its just some 2x4s and ply(i havent looked at what they used to secure it, maybe you could just unscrew the screws). And I personally believe there are some utility tunnels going between the cafeteria and the next building over.

Here's a link to Google Maps with an overhead view:
Link temporarily removed

This tool should come in handy for all explorers. Perhaps people should start linking maps so everyone can get a lay of the land.

The building to the left is the cafeteria. In the picture you can see a walkway from the parking lot. There is another entrance there, used for VIP parties at the cafeteria. The next building to the right is office space, next is training rooms, and the farthest to the right are the demo rooms.

You are correct. The 'ground floor' of the cafeteria actually connects to all four of the buildings through a central corridor. The kitchen and storage for the cafeteria are actually behind and below the big cafeteria area. Actually the 'company store' was in one of those basement hallways. It wasn't really a service tunnel. They had classrooms and everything down there.

Now if you mean tunnels that connected to buildings outside of the central complex, I believe there is a brick 'bunker' next to the dishes. I don't think there was a walkway over to those.

The whole facility is set up so once you get in the north or south entrances, you can get everywhere inside without leaving the 'security area' established. Kodak used this facility for sales training, and for years it housed alot of Kodak's trade secrets. While not Fort Knox, it was locked down pretty tight. Even once you get in, many of the rooms have their own electronic locks. There were several areas that were off limits even if you worked for Kodak.

Good luck if you get in. Post pics and I'll see if I can tell you what you find. The highlight would definitely be the cafeteria if you get in. There is probably enough valuable 'infrastructure' (phones, furniture, cabling, etc) that it won't be considered abandoned.

Hangman, remove that link. This thread is public and we don't need kiddies going there and smashing things. I already saw some high schoolers having sex in an SUV in the parking lot a few days ago We don't need them getting inside the building.

WARNING TO PEOPLE THINKING OF GOING THERE: There is often a guard there and I have verified that there are live cameras on the parking lots and enterances. All of the doors are alarmed. Don't go there if you don't know what you're doing.

Ummm, OK. I removed the link. However I find that ridiculous as the photos at the top show the address of the facility on the signs. Showing an overhead photo seems less tempting than the actual photos.

None of the signs have their address on them. Riverwood is not the name of the road so the number on one of the signs doesnt matter. They just point to which parking lot is which.

Dan, what parking lots have cameras? I know there is a camera pointing at the "shed" in the far parking lot but I didnt spot any in the other lots =\

Sorry if I sounded demanding. After reading the recent post about level3 access I just want to protect the location. It's fully intact and I'd like to see it stay that way. Plus there is security there so I wouldn't want some newbie getting busted.

I think it's pretty funny that the name of the place is Riverwood, and it even appears on the front sign under the street number since the street is not Riverwood.

thank you to everyone for the background info on Riverwood!

i dont happen by this page too often, but im glad i did. i used to stay with my girlfriend at the RIT Inn nearby to Riverwood. we always thought it was gorgeous and once ventured there to walk around a bit. when we got to the building and to doors however, a guard did come and yell at us for being there. typical private property bull.

we were both so curious as to know what the building closest to the river was. it seemed so odd in design and function to me. im glad to find out more of what this place was used for. if anyone gets in i would love to see pictures as well. theres almost nothing online about it.

I just became addicted to this site. This was a training facility for Kodak. I use to work there. There is nothing there of interest, only class rooms
