Yeah. it was super interesting going to that thing. unfortunately the city shut it down this year because it wasnt up to "code"

i hope this isn't an insanely dumb question, but why is it called the tunnel of terror?

Yep they have held a haunted house there for years. This year they didnt do it because of city code compliance failure I think.
Its actually an abandoned silica mine that was used by FORD several years ago.
Pretty much when you mention FORD mines around here its a given that its one of the places many of us drool to get into and a few have but security is notoriously tight.

Not during the actual digging, no. However a large pile of earth next to the hole is gonna stick out like a sore thumb.

Of course it'll stick out... if it's seen. Have you been to the location in question?

(By the way, I do not recommend the digging project.)

its all pretty much the same scale as far as rooms and tunnels by what I have heard. Not as big as in mileage though.

Nope, I've never been there, for all I know, it could be quite easy to hide the dirt.

I've been there three times and I don't see a better way than the front door or a connecting tunnel system.

I was just catching up on some old threads and saw this one. Not sure if there is still drooling going on about the ford mines or not, but if there is, I know of a sure fire way in.....I know an employee who claims he has been in some pretty cool underground shit there, and would be willing "look the other way" for a moment or two.

I know a way in too, but it involves the ALICE pack and a case of beer. Probably not a good idea.

I drink gasoline for breakfeast and beer for dinner!
Any problem can be licked with a case of beer and a few sticks of dynamite.
