Quick UE -- Field Testing the New Toy

So I bought a digital camera, Konica Minolta Dimage Z2. A very nice camera. So I did a quick UE on my way home. The target. Four buildings at the corner of Derry Rd and Dixie Rd (I was coming home from the Fall Photography Show put on by Henry's).

Here are the shots.

The house pictured now has severe fire damage.....suffered in late 2006 I think. There is a notice on the door from October 2006 stating the structure was deemed unsuitable for habitation and denying entry to anyone.

The House pictured was built around 1840 to 1860 or so....I have seen a few dates. The house is known as the "Rae House". The community was at first jokingly called "Mount Charles", but became official later. Jokingly as the area was extremely flat in all directions. The intersection itself was called the "King’s Crossings" I have seen pictures of the house in the late 1970s which showed it as being well cared for, with a driveway, flagpole and Front deck of which all no longer exist. The original buildings still standing are:

1: A brick blacksmith shop
2: The "Rae House" (Recent fire damage in late 2006, used to be a heritage building)
3: A carriage shop, later an antique store
4: A couple of modified buildings that once housed the carpenter’s shop and stables

There is another heritage building on the North-West corner of the intersection, known as the "Dale farmhouse".

Holy Crap, this is a massive bump.

The camera I mentioned was the one that served me very well until it's unfortunate death at base edgars. It was replaced by a Panasonic Lumix FZ7.

Thanks for the info Lucky One.

I bought that camera on December 31, 2006

It's a great one too.
