Abandoned cars are a treat to come across. In the summer while I was staying with a friend I came across a hillside which there were quite a few old cars strewn over the edge. It was pretty fun going down the hillside and looking inside at the old dash and what they looked like inside, although some of them were filled with leaves and dirt.

I don't have any pictures, but my family used to go and visit friends up-Island in Bowser. Behind their cabin was a forest that was a dumping ground for cars.

Most of them probably got there illegally. I remember there was a 1953 Bel-Air that was mint, albeit exposed to the elements for 35 years, and-- what I found odd at the time-- a Celica that couldn't have been more than 12 years old at the time (76-ish?) that had seen abuse no car had ever seen.

My dad let me take the wipers off the Celica. I think I pleaded that I was going to build my own car out of parts at the time.

That actually sounds pretty neat. Have you ever thought of going back there and looking now?

hey bailey the celica is cool. i used to race old school toyotas so i always like to hear about them.
there is a 1960? jaguar xke (e-type) close to my house. it has been sitting in a field next to a partially built boat. the small pond next to it has grown into a lake and now the water is up to the bottom of the doors. this would be an awsome pic first thing in the morning, the reflection of the car in the water is pretty cool.
