What is the pollicy of posting drains in the LDB? I know if everyone posted every drain they know of the LDB would be flooded, but would it be possible to create a draining DB? It might be wise to follow the CC policy of naming drains: they must be over 1.7 meters high (sorry if this was just said by a CC member, I forget).

Sounds like a good idea to me. I know there are quite a few drains on the West Coast that would fall into this category. But instead of a separate database, why not incorporate it into the current with maybe a color or mark other that is being currently used?

You can post drains if you like, but I suggest you only post drains that are interesting. If it's just a boring tube, why bother posting it ?

I'd suggest making your own website. That way the organization and display will be better suited to presenting the unique features and exploration experience of each drain.

I suggest that for topside locations too, but I think drains are especially ill-suited to the database. If you've got something really spectacular, post it by all means, but otherwise you should work on a more personal way of exhibiting the drains than the LDB is going to provide you.

There's no such thing as a long boring tube
What would you consider interesting? I do know of some drains that are just long "boring" tubes, some that deserve DB status, and many that are borderline.

There are some nice drains, and then there are some lame drains.

Nice: Lengthy exploration, interesting features, etc.

Lame: Wal-Mart drain. Drain under the highway. Drain in your mother's back yard.

I've seen a couple of drains in the LDB that looked ten times better than when I went to see them in person. You can make any drain look incredible, just take allot of photos to simulate longer length, hold the camera lower to simulate greater height, etc.

If you do post drains, please post "honest" pictures. Mist and I walked quite a ways through an open culvert to find a tunnel around a hundred feet long, with no features except allot of sewage. Luckily, this open culvert had the most amazing graffiti I've ever seen and several fun waterfalls.
