Denbigh would be my best bet seen as I come from Surrey and don't head north too often!
But if are interested in asylum architecture you are not far from the Countess of Chester Hosp, no entry as far as I was able to see but quite a nice little water tower and a well maintained physiatric (can't spell) annexe.

Nice pics of the countess, Its only down the road from me so I might go up there this weekend, Got a hotel near by to have a look at so it depends how that goes! I've got relatives down in Surrey or near by anyway so I might be down that way soon and need a good excuse to get out for a while, much down there?
