Anybody live here or near here? I'm having trouble finding anywhere worth exploring. I didn, however, stumble on a limestone processing plant or something across the road from a quarry that was neat. There's some construction going on though, so it's strictly a nighttime thing. Also, finding a good place to park the car out of site is hard, and I had a few near run ins with the police.

I know of a couple things....

But see what you can find. Get in your car, and keep your eyes open. You'd be suprised what you'll find.

WTF indeed.

I did find this neat 3 story building on campus, that I think might have been a frat house at one time, but the university police use it as a meeting point or something. So imagine my suprise when I'm starting my car to leave and two freakin cops come up out of nowhere. I had to stash my crowbar under the seat so they didn't think I was trying to get in, plus I was out after curfew. But they let me go when I told them that I have a great intrest in history and old buildings, which is true. Other than that, I haven't found any real big or supercool locations.

Then again, there is an abandoned garden shop five minutes away on foot, and I've explored that multiple times.

I've only been to Bloomington a couple times, and I know of a closed factory or two, a campground with waterslide, and a few houses.

You'll find people are more willing to help when you put forth more effort. Hanging around your dorm won't help.

WTF indeed.

Here in Evansville there are a few abandoned buildings from the former state hospital. One of which has very easy access...

No, the guy in my av isn't actually me.

Close to town and country ford, uh? I'll give it a shot one of these days.

In campus, they're building a five story building that I got into. After getting through a gap in the fence and clambering over limestone and rebar, I went in through a window. I wandered around the roof for a bit, then left.

Hey, NB, I found that factory you mentioned. Only, I think it's vacant, not abandoned. There's a ton of power running through the place, and one guard at the main gate. It took me awhile, but I got inside. Like I said, there's still power, so some of the administration and most of the factory floor is well lit.

That's a shot from the second floor of the main factory area.

What's left of the kitchen.

Another factory floor shot.

Wha....Shut up!

Just kidding. I'll submit this to the database once I become a full member. I've got other pictures, but I just didn't want to post too many.

There's also an abandoned car dealership I just found yesterday, so I have a new target. Mwahahahaha

Wow. It's been years since I've lived in Bloomington. I was actually hoping to visit the old town sometime after christmas. I've got a few contacts up there still, I'll see what I can dredge up for you.

Thanks. Turns out the dealership is sealed up tight, and it's just an empty room anyway. Nothing worth bothering with. I might explore some of the active plants on the west side, though.
