Texas service for Ninjalicious.

I know there's been a lot of talk about UTEX and how hard it is for all of us to get together, but in honor of Ninj, I'd like to set up a memorial service on the day of the funeral. So that, even if we're not in Canada, he'll still know what a great effect he had on us all. Please post if you'll be interested. I'd like to host it in the largest drain I've found, and I'll be more than happy to give you details.

Finn.

Rest in Peace, Ninjalicious. I know that wherever you are, you're finding the best sites for us already.

Okay, here are the details. Saturday, midnight, meet me at the mall on 15th and 75/Central. Bring an old flashlight or a can of paint for a tag. We'll go to Trinity and leave a tag for him in the window room. Please respond for details.

Rest in Peace, Ninjalicious. I know that wherever you are, you're finding the best sites for us already.

i can't really speak for ninjalicious, but i'm fairly positive he wouldn't want someone he never met vandalizing a location in his name. perhaps you should break a window, steal something AND vandalize the place....ninj would have wanted it that way.

i've been biting my tongue, but can't any longer. YOU NEVER EVEN MET THE GUY. this just reminds me of every high school funeral where a thousand people show up and maybe 20 actually knew the deceased, but everyone hugs and cries and talks about how "close" they were with him. it's disgusting. psychologically speaking, it's a ploy for attention and a need to belong to a group. there are peeps around here that actually met the guy, and none of them has suggested doing anything- except taking some kick ass pix with "miss ya ninj" in orb trails. stick to the D&D and leave the memorials to true friends and family. the man wasn't a commodity, a scene, or an activity- he was a man. don't cheapen his memory by insinuating yourself into his circle.

I'm sorry you feel that way C-Nail. I know that I never met Ninjalicious, but he and his magazine are what got me into Exploration. I respect what he was and what he did. Sure, maybe he wouldn't have wanted me to tag a tunnel for him, but he also wouldn't want explorers jumping down each others throat. Arguing over who's allowed to miss him. I never got to meet him or tell him what an effect his magazine has had on my life. I just want to leave something for him in a place that's special to me. Oh, and you don't have to drag my other hobbies into this. Let's not forget this whole site is dedicated to people with quite possibly the most fucked up hobby ever. If you have a problem with it, then don't come.

Rest in Peace, Ninjalicious. I know that wherever you are, you're finding the best sites for us already.

Sorry if I seemed kind of snippy, but I'm not trying to cheapen anyone elses pain. I'm just trying to do something, and this is the best I could think of.

Does the flashlight need to be old enough to be tried as an adult???

Ninjalicious was always against any kind of tagging or vandalism. If you really want to commemorate him, I suggest doing it in a way that doesn't go against his beliefs.

Done. No tags are at his memorial. Just a few flashlights and supplies.

hey, have been out of town, sorry i couldn't make utex or the memorial.. I setup one of my own out of respect though, am sure it will be found someday..

I finally found one of the tunnels i was looking for in san antonio this last weekend after 37 hours of draining.. It changed a bit, but not much, still has a broken wall that goes into an underground storage area on one of the bases.. main change is it had a new grate, new lock, and what looked like the start of new mortar work...

Left an internal frame backpack with a pair of rubber overboots, 1 led flashlight, 1 led headlight, and a mil jacket with the waterproof liner and hood. Added a note on the outside that was laminated "UE :keep the spirit alive: 2005"

Am afraid this is my last big venture out... a leaving in december for west texas and dont know when i will have time to do anymore ue.. If anyone is in the terlingua area of texas, look me up after january, will be on sporadically until then.

I know i had said in the past that i would disclose the location of this tunnel if i found it again... I hope everyone can understand why i am now choosing not to disclose it...
