| | | Posted by BMac718 Anyone have any experience/opinions on MURS radios? The VHF freqs should have slightly better range than FRS. (and great for pranksters that want to fuck w/fast food drive-throughs and the local Wal-Mart )

Yes, but MURS is limited to wattage. Pay the $80, get your GMRS license, and enjoy the benefits of what comes with GMRS. I own a radio organization for GMRS within the SF bay area (California) that mostly deals with repeater coordination and other issues with GMRS. But reading about the ones who "highly recommend FRS and bubblepack radios" are really misguided. The packages are misleading, they violate FCC Part 95 rules and regulations, and it's well worth the $80 to pick up your GMRS license and some good commercial radios or study for your amateur license. Any questions on radios, feel free to ask. 73! -Ryan
