Hello all!

Hey guys, I've just signed up here. Greets to everyone!

It's been a while since I last went UE but I now have a very strong feeling to make my comeback. I've been doing and enjoying UE prolly as far as I can remember and being born in Moscow, Russia and grew up in suburbs allowed for plenty of that good UE stuff.

Looking at all the pics on this site and numerous others remind me of many exciting adventures I'be been through. That includes bunkers, many abandonments, rooftops/basements/tunnels in Moscow; factories, military camps, mills, a quarry, sewage processing plant, lots of abandonments and contruction sites in Moscow suburbs. I've recently discovered that Google satellite maps had the area I lived in mapped out. It was an amazing feeling for me to scroll over the satellite maps seeing all the places I've ventured to (please let me know if you'd like an image, I'd be more than happy to draw out my routes and places. could be useful if you plan to travel to Moscow sometime and ofcourse explore there). Many forgotten feeling sprung back to life and perhaps were the cause of me getting back into UE again.

Ever since I've moved to the USA nearly 7.5 yrs ago I've done no UE at all. This really hits me in the head everytime I got to exploration website and see all the cool pics and all. I've probably been checking out various UE website for the past couple years or so and now finally decided to get back into the business. From my research it didn't look like there's much to explore here in Maryland but if someone resides close-by (Montgomery country, Rockville/Gaithersburg/Bethesda area) and know some good sites or would like to meet up for some chatter please lemme know. I'd love to check out and explore something cool in the area.

Well, I'm happy to join ya all. Please let me know if anyone's nearby and would like to join up (I'd prefer to meet with serious people only though, no offence) on some cool expedition.

Welcome to the board! Russia? Damn! Sorry to disappoint, but nothing around here will touch the kind of stuff you've probably seen.

But - with 7.5 years of withdrawal, anything should quench your thirst for adventure!

As far as Bethesda and Rockville etc.... not much to see here, but there's good hospitals around Baltimore and Philly.

While you can't see all of the Location DB, you should be able to see this: http://www.uer.ca/...ow.asp?locid=20059

It's about an hour's drive in moderate traffic from Bethesda, and boy is it worth it. Just know that it's days are limited.

If you have an more questions feel free to PM me or talk to me on AIM.

Hey Louie, thanks for reply.
Yeah, I know 7.5yrs is a long time but I still remember all the goodies quite well, and damn I miss it. I might go visit back next summer (although I've been telling myself the same thing for the past few years...), I'd most certainly have to load up on them memory cards for my camera because I know I won't be able to resist checking out my good old places.

Thanks for confirming that there's not much to see in MD, though I guess it may be worth to travel a bit to see some good objects. I've seen the pics of that radar tower, very nice indeed. Can anyone freely check it out or is the owner a bitch about trespassers? Seeing that radar dish going onto my list, would anyone around here want to join me sometime on a trip to explore this dish? Btw, is there anything worthy of exploring in DC perhaps? There's a good bit of factoris and all around it, I'd be surprised if there's nothing there. I guess I should load up that satellite map and just start looking until I find some under-question structures.

DC? May I suggest St. Elizabeth's. It is wide open, easy access, and nobody cares if you trespass there. Let me know how it works out if you decide to go.

Yeah, but it's pretty well tagged up and there are so many squatters around.

There is a lot to see in Maryland... You just have to drive a little bit.

NRL is wide open. Nobody cares if you check it out, climb it, whatever. During demolition of the buildings though, thats when people were getting yelled at.

If you don't want to drive too far, just drive along the back roads and you'll find abandoned houses. Unfortunately, many of these are of the "shack" variety. There's draining in almost any city. Baltimore is a great city for ue. Check out the database for it here on the site.

I would also suggest that explorations are plenty in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Virginia, all close to your area.
