| | UE Tip - Carrying Extra Gear < on 7/28/2005 6:07 AM >
| | | I have been reading these forums for quite some time now, and I have always been amazed how few people utilize one of the best methods of carrying your equipment. No, it's not a backpack. No, it's not a satchel either. It's really quite simple - a large, tight-strapped, loose-cupped bra. Wearing a D or DD cup bra while exploring has helped me tremendously. Instead of having to lug around a large heavy backpack, or carry all of my equipment in my hands or pockets, I comfortably tuck them into my bra. Here is a list of what I was able to store in it on my last outing: Left cup - Digital camera, extra batteries for my camera, extra batteries for my flashlight, small folding pocketknife, cell phone, and a small bag of small, salty snacks. Right cup - Multitool, backup flashlight, primary flashlight (when not in use), bottle of water, map. As you can see, I am able to free up a tremendous amount of room on my person by carrying my equipment in this manner. I have done quite a bit of testing, and I have determined that for myself, a 34DD works best. It took some shopping around, which at times can be a bit socially awkward, but in the end, look who's laughing! No, it's not those clerks from Victoria Secret, or that guy from Filene's... it's me! ... and possibly anyone else I explore with. But anyway, I can't stress enough how useful this has been during my explorations, and I urge everyone here to try it. If you already do wear a bra on a regular basis, it might be a bit more difficult, because presumably you are a female. In that case, just go a few sizes up in your cup and that should make plenty of room. I just wanted to share this with you all, and hopefully make your explorations better in the future.

| | | I keep my left boob in my left cup, and my right boob in the right cup. I find that I should always bring both boobs with me when I explore. A bra is a very handy place to carry them. Excellent thread. Emma
Sorry, I probably forgot my <sarcasm> tags. |

| | | Fuck that. I am already carrying enough weight there. I'm perfectly happy with a gear bag.
btw, I doubt many guys would be in favor of this method.
WTF indeed. |

| | | I found that carrying multitools in my bra caused too much nipple chafing. It did make me more popular at the local jail though.

| | | Excellent point with the nipple chafing. I forgot to mention this in my initial post, but putting small bandaids over your nipples should clear this problem up right away.

Except that doesn't sound confortable to have a maglite down there. I mentioned this thread topic to a BBW I chat with on the internet elsewhere and she said "fat folds would work good and if your going braless, under the breast"

| | | I really think I would need to see some pictures from the female UE'ers to see if this is really a good idea.

What if we already wear a D or DD and have it full of boobs? It's hard enough to squeeze through small places without going all Jayne Mansfield with gear. Actually, in a similar vein, some of that army webbing with pouches might be good. I have heard of one guy in town who takes a lot of flack for wearing that setup, aka his "utility bra."

Emma and I have alot in common. I do the same thing. EDIT: I am not mocking... but while you are in the womens section, look at the purses. A small causual one that goes across the shoulder hold the same stuff with out the need to be a cross dresser. I use an older one I have, it hold my cell my camera and whatever else I need while being small and hands/chest free.... [last edit 7/30/2005 10:48 PM by andrea - edited 1 times]

Yeah opinions vary widely on the use of tactical vests. but the fact that it makes you look like a commando does not negate the fact that there are few better ways to carry all the gear you need than even a decent M16 vest. I have a pretty hefty digital camera and it fits very nicely in a convenient chest pocket with room for extra flashlights/batteries, snacks, hand sanitizer, multi-tool, headlamp and a ton of other handy stuff in the rest. there are some locations where you really don't need to worry about explaining your Sam Fisher get up, and for these places there's nothin wrong with going in strapped with webbing.

| | | Just go to dr nip tuck and get a kangaroo pouch sewn into your body, unless the cops have an x-ray machine, they will never find the 7 mp camera tucked into your abdomen with the pictures of you and your friends casually trespassing through whatever adventurous location you should happen to be at. I find that the most useful spots tend to be 1) between the shoulder blades 2) the stomach 3) under the arms 4) in your butt cheeks and 5) the backs of your legs. All kidding aside, the Bra idea is quite inventive. Cant knock it till you try it? I think im going to have to....try it. Im thinking you probably had to do some deep soul searching before you tried to pull that one off in front of your friends. If i see some kid at school walking around with his pocket dictionary and pencil box tucked into some oversized Bra, I know who to blame. But until then....quite genius i say.
yeah...a little too raph |

| | | Hmm hiding it inside your body, not a bad idea. Though the medical approach seems a little pricey. Why not just hoop it? : D

Posted by Corallis I have done quite a bit of testing, and I have determined that for myself, a 34DD works best. | Would you say a regular, underwire, or sports bra is best? I would think an underwire would hold your 'gear' more securely, but a sports bra is more comfortable and form-fitting. Decisions decisions. I'm thinking you could also probably hold some gear under, say, a shoulder length brown coloured wig.
