What was the link to download it again?

Or was it discontinued?

I browse UER a *lot*, and also at faculty or other public computers.

At the faculty computers I log off every time because I don't want others to use my account, but I also have AvChat Local on my USB stick.

It'd be cool that I could launch a logged in uer.ca from within avchat local, so It'd save me from typing my password / user name.

As a next step, I could have it set up so that as soon as I plug in my USB stick in any computer, it logs in AVchat and opens up uer.ca (like I now allready have for my IM program)

edit: It's hot here. Couldn't think clearly. Made my point more clear.

You can do that by making an autorun.inf and having it launch the login page with your username and password as arguments.

Put Portable Firefox on your USB key, give it an autorun file* to start firefox and go to UER. The login cookie will be saved on your key so you will only need to login the one time.

*File contents:

[autorun]
OPEN=start /Dpath firefox.exe www.uer.ca && localchatfilename.exe

Red = Variable, set to your own environment. Path is only required if you put Firefox in a subdir, so it'll run as if it was started form that subdir.

And it'll simultaneously open both chat and firefox, and go to UER, logged in.

For Windows 9x machines, either get WinOPEN or modify the autorun script accordingly...

I have portable firefox, but I personally think it sucks more than IE. Yes, I found it hard to beleive, but there are browsers out there that IMHO suck more than IE.

But the passing UER with arguments is a good idea. Thx av.
