That doesn't look like it goes very far. It seems like a standard drainage pipe for railroad tracks... Runs under the tracks, comes out the other side. It may have been placed there before any of the roadway/nearby construction was put in (which would explain it's depth in the ground). We had tonnes of these around where I grew up.
On the other hand, If you found something cool, I want to see the pictures... And I can't see them on your site.
Urban development is what happens when the planners are trying to figure out what to do. By the time they have it sorted, the development has already happened. |

I suppose it is only an underpass for water under a yard, 100-300 meter long. go in there and check!
