what was that?

just me rattling around down here by myself it would seem, figured I'd start a thread for the Texas bunch since its so quiet. any other Texas u.e.rs here?

I was "urban exploring" long ago before anybody thought to call it that we navigated the storm drains and culverts around Dallas back in the late 60's early 70's didnt think it was all that radical then, mostly just smelly

abondoned builidings? yeah that too, well we got more now than we had then, we mostly went into scary old vacant houses. we had an indoor amusement park that went out of business you could crawl under the door and see the rides and clown stuff just collecting dust, mostly dopers hung out there. the old White Rock lake bathouse, abandoned in the late 50s became a hangout for winos (homeless people now) was full of bats then the bat guano started piling up and the winos moved on, neighborhood legend was an alligator lived in there (they caught a gator nearby but not in the bathouse) easy to get in just crawled under the gate

breaking and entering? no such law in Texas its just called burglary here even if you dont take anything

trespassing, thats kinda weird in Texas if its fenced, posted, growing crops or marked with purple paint the man can snatch ya even if theres no complaintant

heard about this from terracaching, its like geocaching but less wimpy. geocaching has a bunch of rules and approvers that must allow you to hide your cache someplace safe, at terracaching we kinda police ourselves and the hunts can turn out to be a lot more interesting. if you get interested come on over and check it out at terracaching.com I use the same callsign 2Xtreme there

working on a infiltration here in DFW that I may incorporate in a terracache but if not I would like to post the pics and tell about it somewhere, we dont have much down here in the way of a forum that I can tell so Ill put it up on this site Im hoping to take some good pics of urban infrastructure and off limits stuff etc.

cool u.e. site btw!

Thanks tripp but Im really not beating anybody.

I certainly dont pretend to compete with Geoduck or coffinail, those guys conquered the mighty Merc! That took some big brass ones amigo. I saw how they did it, made me nervous just thinking about it.

I have been looking for some big tunnels worthy of exploration if you find something cool let me know.

dude...this isn't a competition...it is a passion/hobby for most of us, the serious ones anyway. Me and coffinnail got into the merc some 3 weeks before you did...just to set the record straight...lol

i have to agree..no competition. well, i do like being the first guy in a place, but i never am. think about it- vandals and looters almost always precede us. i give props to all explorers...whether you've been doing it 20 years or two weeks.
