Awesome pic!. I agree, Paranormal State sucks. I admit, at first I was hoping it would be cool but alas, just more nonsense. The main guys voice makes me want to punch the TV, or just change the channel.

Another one is to assume every noise or event is not just a ghost- but a biblical DEMON out to get THEM personally.... I don't even have to name Paranormal State do I in reference, eh? XS It's enough to make me gag.... If any one of them were to check out some of the places I've seen, in Europe especially, they'd shit themselves XD!

I've only watched a few episodes. The constant sound effects,flickering and that asshole's droney microphone voice turned me off immediately. I noticed that the background music would only get louder when the 'heard something',and of course evryone's haunted by 'demons'. I don't think that they should have included so many religious connotations either,they can't seem to figure out if they're trying to do exorcisms or investigations.

Woah what do you mean the far wall had been brought down? The one they blocked the tunnel off with or the actually limestone original walls of the tunnel? Fill me in in detail on this please! I will be down there on Monday. The pondage is drained and you can see the old locks now from the 2nd Welland Canal which are usually under water.

That damage is actually really old, the "Make Shift" window next to the door and the one higher up was done long ago. I was just down today and I saw no more damage or wall removal from the last time I was there in September or before that.
Made it into the tunnel today, set up 40 Tea Light candles along the edge and took some shots. 2 girls came in while we were there, I think I scared them a bit, they really wondered what I was up to ;) But they were cool. We finished up at the tunnel and went up to the Pondage. Some Seaway workers were sitting in their trucks doing NOTHING ( Go figure, government job ) and some moron gets out and says. "Do you have permission to be here" I replied "No, but we aren't causing any problems, just taking some pictures of the drained pondage" We had to leave at that point, so no pics of the pondage. But I think I got a nice one of the tunnel, low light, with the candles...

Old shipwreck eh? I haven't heard THAT specific urban legend until now ;) Well, there were bodies left behind from families that couldn't pay to have them moved. But since back they the majority of people were buried in a blanket. I doubt there would be anything left to move...for the record, all the stones were moved just not all the bodies.

Its an old schooner sloop (from what I've heard)...and is visible when the water levels are low. Not sure what area of the pondage its located in, though.
As for the bodies, yeah - they'd removed all the headstones, but there's still several hundred bodies left behind. They relocated some of them, but like you said many were left due to lack of money.
They've drained the canal now, too. Might try and get over to Port Weller and get a few shots sometime today.

In my way of making a phototour website of the historic Welland Canals (www.drgordsworld.com) I have been almost all the way around the pondage when drained I have never seen one but i just found this thread here guys (http://www.uer.ca/...rrpage=1&pp#post19) and it shows pics outside Lock 21 of the pondage area, I am going to have to make a trip and see what I can see
Now as far as the BGT tunnel goes I can honestly say that it is not RESIDENTIALLY haunted meaning everytime you go there, do not expect to witness anything paranormal. I have been there tonnes of times both as a Canal researcher and a paranormal researcher and have only really come in to contact with the paranormal maybe of couple of times.
Now Morro, you mentioned that you heard ghostly voices for over 15 minutes! Do you have this on tape as i have a hard time believing this took place in the tunnel but if you did would love to hear some of it, to help with my paranormal research. By all means PM me!!!
