International Branches of the Cave Clan

Just thought I'd run this idea up the flagpole (again) and see if anyone salutes it.

I have spoken to people in Northern America that were keen to start up branches of the Cave Clan. Ninj has also mentioned that he knows people that are keen as well.

What about people on here?

I don't really want negative posts such as "what's the point?" at this moment.

Just more curious than anything.

In a month or two when we've implemented our 20 year revamp we may look at it and now seems as good as time as any.

Cheers,

Doug

I really have not done area underground, but it seems that there are quite a few people here in the San Francisco area that have. I would not mind seeing CC Chapters over here. You guys are part of the reason why I started looking at UER>

Just a couple of months ago I was reading the various CC sites and thinking "Wouldn't it be awesome if the CC was some kind of a worldwide organisation"

I've never done any real underground beyond service tunnels at old hospitals, but I'd definitely be interested in seeing a UK Cave Clan branch, especially as draining has REALLY got going in the UK in the past year or so, I think there may well be a good few interested people over here.

The twin cites, MN has a good reputation for underground explorations as well as a passion for them. Not sure if anyone would be keen on a formal organization, but it's a fairly tight community so maybe...

No doubt the work of the wonderful Siologen. GO IN BIIIIG BRAAYYYYYYYNES!!!!

But there should be a branch per CITY, not country. After 20 years of Cave Clan overseas, then that country can run their own NatClan.

I think the Cave Clan is trying to reduce the inter-city rivalries now by just having everyone say "I'm a member of Cave Clan." In Australia it seems like every other person has gone draining in multiple cities, anyhow, so they don't need to identify as closely with Sydney, Melbourne, etc. They're a part of the group as a whole, whatever city they live or explore in at the moment.

I wish it was inter city rivalry, unfortunatley it's more a series of personality and attitude conflicts. But this shit is coming to a head, Cave Clan 2005 is going to be bigger, better, badder-arse and blacker!!

btw: Doug, this all sounds very C/C world domination. I want in on the ground level.

Cave Clan worldwide would be cool, I just don't know of many places that have drains NEARLY as interesting as they do in Australia. I am getting info on atlanta drains, but I doubt they'll be that massive, more likely extremely hazardous due to the sinkhole problem atlanta has had.

I hate all of you

Cave Clan actually spend as much time exploring other UE locations other than tunnels and drains. Actually over a whole year we'd probably spend more time exploring topside locations. Especially during the wetter seasons.

So it wouldn't be just a tunnel thing... although the name would lead you to think it was

I've received a few emails from people wanting to start branches of the Cave Clan in Northern America.

We'll get on to it in a few weeks or so.

Just sorting out a few major things first.

We have allowed a section for International groups in the new Cave Clan Forums.

You will be hearing more in the near future...
