P.S. -- Nice job, by the way, but you need someone to come on and disagree with you. There was way too much, "I think X, because Y. What do you think, Ninj?" "I totally agree, Av." Call up Mike Dijital! -- Mat

| | | I hope Mike and Crossfire will join in next time. Panic: It's a little off-topic, but for the record, Wes Modes adopted the term "urban adventure" from a book by Alan North called "The Urban Adventure Handbook". Neither of them used the term urban exploration until later on, when I made friends with Wes and showed him what I was up to. And I used both that term and the term "recreational trespassing" in the first paragraph of the first issue of Infiltration in October 1996, which is the oldest documented use I've found for either term (as we mean them, anyhow). The credit for popularizing the term "urban exploration" can probably be split by Mr. Sable and I, since he started a popular web message board under that name, and I relaunched a draining webring under that new name. But this is off-topic so if you want to debate it further just call in next time we're on the air. Ninj http://www.infiltration.org

| | | That was cool; I'm glad you brought up the ethics issue. This is what really disappointed me about the site originally. I thought everyone was looking at targets as historical; then to find out Mochi had acted in a manner I couldn't fathom.(I overreacted but I was SO disappointed in this new community I had found). Even today, I was at the NL iron plant in the woods here. I could have lifted any number of signs, but instead (If I win) I'm going to pay 30.00 plus for a 12 by 12 sign.
I even emailed the seller to make him tell me how he acquired such a sign. Turns out she was legit, it came from her father's hunting cabin, and until she did some research, she didn't know a thing about National Lead, or Tahawus, or what it was. Fun show! I hope you get the chance to keep doing it! I'd give my left nut to get on the radio. 'Dukes

If you only use a 30 second selection from a song, the artist cannot claim Copyright. This is why many AM stations/talk shows won't play more than 30 seconds from a song, because they aren't licensed to use it. -Ex

Sometimes, you need to march right in and demand your rights, even if you don't know what your rights are, or who it is you're talking to. Then, on your way out, slam the door. |

| | | Pretty good show overall, quite entertaining. I gotta disagree with ninj on the point that we all want to spread the word about UE and get more people into it. I most definitely do not want more people getting into the hobby as that could be seriously detrimental to it. If UE were to become more popularized, sites would be locked up better and security all around would probably be increased, more people would also get hurt. I do mean what I say in my disclaimer in that I don't think it is something everyone should do, it is a quite dangerous hobby and not everyone is prepared for the kind of situations you might encounter while doing it.
"Because there's no possibility of real disaster, real risk, we're left with no chance for real salvation. Real elation. Real excitement. Joy. Discovery. Invention. The laws that keep us safe, these same laws condemn us to boredom. Without access to true chaos, we'll never have true peace. Unless everything can get worse, it won't get any better." -Chuck Palahniuk |

| | | Good show guys. Definetely something that can grow in the future. I have to agree with Shane on this one. The more people who get 'recruited' into this hobby the more bad apples we'll see. And hence the more vandalism, hightened security, and bad press. If someone is really into it, then they will find a way to learn more about it, and find a way to get into the 'club'. That's what I did. I've been interested in it for years but only recently started getting more organized at it and joining other people. Hope to hear more shows in the near future, and the call in idea is a good one but will only work to it's full potential if it's a webcast. Otherwise, it's just a scheduled guest call in. Blue
