If you want a bit of control over sites that do this kind of stuff, start using a really nice web browser called Firefox and install an extention to Firefox called AdBlock and block the offending files. You can get rid of the snowman like this and also stuff like the holly background in read posts.

I hate to point this out: Mac, you're use of the blinky UER as an avatar violates several sacrosanct rules here. I guess the festive holiday spirit, replete with looping music and annoying snowmen, has kept the police off your back. But dude, you're flagrantly violating hardcore rules in this forum. It still loads here, laptop with 1 GHz processor, 512 RAM, and 32 MB video. Plus, T3 line on cable.

|  | | | I've been having trouble all day loading this site. I'm not complaining about the decorations but I am seeing problems while using other interfaces. I turned off my PM notifying sound and I'm not sure if that did it, but I don't hear the music anymore, while using the original interface. I've seen a Ren & Stimpy animated avatar on here not too long ago that still hadn't been changed, yet MacG gets his taken away in less than a few hours.

Did anyone see the Hanson skit on SNL in 1997/8, where some bad guys trapped Hanson in an elevator and made them listen to "Mmmbop" until they went crazy? I think we should do that to Av. Even though I like the baseball song. A lot. Almost as much as I liked Hampsterdance.
