| | | | There's plenty of asbestos removal work being done in the tunnel that runs east from the main NSEW junction to the plant.
I was in there last night actually and in various points the tunnel was stacked high with containment bags full of asbestos, and was broken by a series of plastic sheet "airlocks." Access to the plant itself from the tunnels is impossible right now: the door is sealed shut, with some sort of air supply pipe hooked up through it.
A disappointment actually, because I was hoping that the junction to the new Schulich stub tunnel would be on the system-side of that door. Other directions will need to be employed.
At any rate, respirator is a general precaution I'm now taking anywhere in the system because i've been in there enough times that I figure I'd better start protecting myself now against the trace quantities of the stuff that likely contaminate the entire place.
I got some great photos last night, as i finally had a tripod along with me. Look for those when I launch my site.
