Would it be possible for each person to add their own words, so that it only applies to their user? ie. I use the word "UEA" a lot, as well as "Skaught" - but they don't need to be added globally..

Also: I would suggest that for each user his username gets excluded... In my case that won't help as I allways sign my mails with "Tijmen". but I don't use spellcheck anyway...

What about short capitalized words being excluded - I use a lot of acronyms that the spellcheck will never touch. Like UEA.. or NSIS, or PHP.. Probably a really tricky bit to write - but a true REGEX (ha) master could do it.

Either that or have each user with a personal dictionary they can add words to, so that it doesn't ask me every time to change my spelling of UEA.

See? It would totally avoid the spell check popping up for me:

Oh, I suppose you have a regex callback function to identify each word already, wouldn't you - so hardcoding an exception in there (as opposed to putting it in the regex query) would've be the end of the world. Cool : )

Actually, I don't use regexp, I just wrote a simple word parse function which is damn fast.

Is it possible to preview your text without spellcheck? I have difficulties concentrating on the build of the sentences when I see all those highlighted words between them, thus I preview less which isn't good.

Sorry to nag,

I like the feature, but I also think it would be useful to include all usernames.

I agree - usernames seem to be the only thing popping the spellcheck up for me now. Oh, that and spelling errors in quoted text. If both of those could be ignored - this would be incredibly helpful.

Spell check seems to think that "teh" is a word. Is this a problem?

It got "antidisestablishmentarianism" right, but it highlighted "Robowhore". Where's the fun in that?

But on a serious note, I really like Anymouse's idea of a personalized dictionary. Also, as Asylunt said, it only makes sense to have usernames work, though due to Av's clever use of a hyphen, his username works!

Also, could there be a feature where it automatically adds in [sic] tags when you quote someone? Just to be a jerk and all to those who fail to correct. ;)

The spell check feature won't let me add a poll. Does anyone remember the url for adding a poll manually?

I can't do a personalized dictionary, I can't do the user names, I will look into making it ignore [quote] tags.

Lol! - That would be much cooler than simply ignoring it. Would double the size of some quotes, as every word would have a [sic] to it.

Is there a way to make it ignore URLs in posts? I know the board already auto-shortens URLs, so adding the feature shouldn't be too hard.

Turn off the internet and go play outside.
