| | | Update of stories tally in latest changes... < on 11/5/2004 12:26 PM >
| | | I just made a story in the Stelco location and notice that it filled the latest changes thing with "Thieving Magpie updated a story" about 10 times. What I'm thinking, is that updating of stories should be exempt from latest changes? Only count making stories viewable? It really fills up the screen when you preview your story a bzillion times. | | | Why should it be exempt? It's an event that happens in the LDB, just like all the other stuff...

| | | I see good reasons for both sides. It is nice to know when something has been changed for the record, but people are going to swap a bunch pf pictures around or edit a story several times and push the list way down. What if changes listed identical to the previous one are exempt for a period of time, like 20 minutes. That way someone can write their story and make a few changes to it without cluttering the update list too much.

| | | I like MacGyver's idea. Only one update per day, per user would be nice. If that can be implemented.

| | | no no no, I should have worded that more clearly. I mean that if a user edits the same story ten times over the period of fifteen minutes, it will only show up as one entry in the updates list. Not that people would be locked out of editing something for an amount of time.

| | | I also didn't word mine correctly. I meant that it would only go down on the "latest changes" thing, once a day per user, however the user can update to their hearts content. Really, why would you need more than one? [last edit 11/6/2004 5:49 AM by Stewie - edited 1 times]
