new feature: subscribable public boards!

It is now possible to create a private board that anyone may subscribe to.

Simply create a private board as usual, and then select the "Public Subscribe" option in the Options section of the private board setup.

The available public boards will show up in the listing of all private boards: www.uer.ca/forum_showallpb.asp?fid=1

I've also revamped how users are added and removed from private boards.

Enjoy the new features!

Verry cool, is there any way to have the subscribable public boards show up on the main board page, also for adding users, if a user manages more than one private board,. the last private board he runs shows up as the board in the users profile that you can add people to.

- The boards you're subscribed to appear on the main forum page, just like they used to.

- To manage more than one private board, first open the Private Board Manager, and from there, proceed to add users. The last board that you opened the Manager on is where the users are added to.

It doesn't work for me.

I see a list of "Open-To-All" boards, but when I click on them, it bitches about me not being allowed to view it.

Edit:

Are we always able to SEE the boards we -could- be a member of? I think it'd be much better if we were either not able to see them unless we were a member - or, automatically make them available for everyone (ie, we're already subscribed).

Or, failing that, clicking on a board you're not subscribed to, instead of bitching about not being allowed to, why not have a "Register for this board" button which would send a PM to the board owner.

Maybe you should read what's on your screen?

Underneath each "open to all" board there's a link that says "Subscribe me to this board". Click on that to become a member.

Nice feature Av! Now my inbox won't fill with Music forum PM's

My only nag is to be able to see the "Open to public" boards list, linked from the main forum view or something.... like conundrum asked.

I will state this for the third time... You can see the open public boards list by clicking the link I provided in my post.

This link is also available on the MAIN FORUM PAGE under the title "Private Boards Index"
