| | Summer Trip of 2004: Vilnius & Krakow < on 7/21/2004 6:04 PM >
| | | As we spent on the trip for two weeks and visited several locations, I'm going to use this one thread to inform the new galleries from that trip, rather than to make another twenty new threads... For now, two galleries are ready: KL Auschwitz I http://www.silentwall.com/AuschwitzI.html KL Auschwitz II - Birkenau: http://www.silentwall.com/BirkenauI.html If you like to know, what to expect in the near future, you can check the travel journal, that I kept during the journey. It contains notes from the places we visited and explored: http://www.silentwall.com/TravelJ.html

Yes I understand and that's why I cannot understand, why parents bring little children, five, six years old to the place... Spending two days there, I saw dreams/nightmares about the place for a week.

| | | Even when every book, brochure and internet page claims, that there isn't anything to be seen from the Plaszow concentration camp, just a meadow, we still managed to find German air cover tunnel, abandoned movie set and some abandoned buildings, which origin still remain mystery to me: http://www.silentwall.com/PlaszowI.html And then to a bit more happier places, although still being in Plaszow area. Abandoned granite quarry, with it's neat looking towers and a building: http://www.silentwall.com/QuarryI.html

| | | That must have been humbling to go through the Concentration Camps. I don't know if I could go and tour it without breaking down seeing how nearly half of my family was interned in work camps like that. [last edit 7/25/2004 6:30 PM by Curious_George - edited 1 times]

| | | Three more... The "Tower" Hotel from Krakow...with it's crappy pictures, but the place itself even when just looking from the outside, is so great that I thought to include it also: http://www.silentwall.com/Hotel.html P.S. Kazil, how about you go and climb to that tower? Decayed Sands Church of Blessed Mother Mary (Napoleon's Field Hospital) from Vilnius http://www.silentwall.com/SandsChurchI.html And just a house...nothing more...Vilnius. http://www.silentwall.com/Placioji.html That's about it. There's more locations coming, but as I know you all are bored, I'll leave it to here. You can check the rest of the locations later, if you're interested. Namely there's four Austro-Hungarian forts from Krakow, one fort from Vilnius and other miscellaneous locations coming.
