Thats in way better shape then the one i was in in Colorado....

Deer Trail is more complete, but totally trashed from what i can see- once we got past the powerhouse( Asbestos everywhere) the only smell in there was musty dirty, no Kerosene or Diesel in the air as i have heard some of the sites have

if its at all possible, i plan on making a trip to Colorado- hopefully before it gets sealed up, but i AM a california sissy- spring or summer will be the time frame

kind of funny- yours is the only one that DOES have a hole in the roof like that!
also, yours has a couple Silo cribs still in it from what i hear- thats VERY rare, but 2 Larson sites do- the one they use for diving, and the one with the hole

as for the Generators, as i understand it, the military opened the entry portal silo, killed and moved the generators into it one at a time, lifted them out with a crane- at least thats what i have been told

i always wondered why they cut that hole in THAT one- makes it nearly impossible to seal up

as for differences, they were MANY- the biggest being Larson and Beale sites have that strange Sub- Basement under the powerhouse- if you go down there in yours, you will see they cut the spring beams out- how and why is something the scrapper only knows, because there was NO standing up in there !
the sites built first DIDN'T have them- Pete had a GREAT time pointing all the differences out

interestingly enough there is some space in the power dome sub floor. it's a bit uncomfortable to walk around down there, mainly due to tons of trash and miscellaneous bullshit but it's doable. the control dome has a sub-floor that's accessible as well. also, the one you went in is in much better shape than ours.

obligatory tea lights.

CRIBWORK!!! i would LOVE to see that in person
your site is the one that someone i know was in, and looked under the powerhouse- we know the Beale sites AND larson have the Sub-floors, but for some strange reason, most (if not all) of the spring beams were cut out of yours- there are actually 2 subfloors- the one with the posts, then the one with the Steel beams supporting the floors- the pics i saw show yours supported by anything the scrappers could find to hold the floor up while they cut out the Beams

i know a couple people who want in that one, including ME! LOL
sad that only one of the Idaho sites is tourable

Yeah, I drove out to the one non trash filled one by me and the family living on top of it is crazy, they won't even allow newspapers on the property. I decided to not risk getting shot at, I'm gonna check out how trashed one of the others is, might be do-able.

yeah it's really dark and uncomfortable down there in that sub floor, I didn't spend a whole lot of time down there, as far as I could tell there was only one level, but I didn't wander around down there too much.

on one side of the powerhouse, there is a ladder that goes down one level- on the other side, there is a ladder that goes down to both levels

i was loaded down with high powered flash/flood/spot lights, if i wanted or needed to light something up, i could and did! LOL
funny thing is, most of my pics were with a 1800 lumen flashlight, the Camera flash lit things VERY well! (i had it on its highest setting think)

i talked with the owner today, he says last weekend he sent a crew up there, who welded up any possible entry point except the entry portal- im thinking we were allowed up there so they could find where people were getting in....
and YES, the Exhaust Vent was the FIRST thing they welded up and reinforced! LOL

Love this site. http://www.flickr....5/with/2194654872/

I'm curious who gave you the tour and if there is a new owner? My understanding was the old owner didn't like the attention.

Not quite sure if you know how things work around here. The point is to share your photos/interpretation/artistic vision from whatever site you've been to before. I can go to a site 20 times, but I'll still want to see what other people come up with when they visit the same site. If anyone sees that as "infiltrating" (the irony...), they're in the wrong forum.

AGREED!! i looked at literally thousands of pics, trying to get an idea of the condition of the powerhouse in these things- its not often people take pics there, simply because they are boring- but i posted ALL the pics i took from that trip, even the reaaly bad/ blurry ones, because you never know what someone missed and would like to see in there, such as launcher cribwork, until that pic was posted, i had only heard stories of it, never actually saw a pic till Se7eN posted that one- i would really like to see what ever someone has, not just the artsy fartsy ones

I'm cool as well, and my post was - as siper mentioned - only intended to share sides of the site that AMC may or may not have seen. They are GIGANTIC sites after all.

Shots of the powerhouse / thread infiltration:

Larger res photos are not online at this point. I should rework these with my new siper-techniques. The powerhouse is hard to shoot. In the second photo, UER member Seany can be seen on the right, standing on top of one of large pieces of equipment, for scale. You need a really bright light and some patience to get it right.

amckid: it's really cool that you got access to this site legitimately. Congrats on that!

On a related note, this is the only site I'm aware of that still has the baffles hanging from the power dome ceiling.

Free- infiltrate away!!
between you, seany and Tunnelbug got me hooked on the Titan I sites, and this one in particular

two things from those pics remind me, i was AMAZED that the Winch cable/chain still hung from that arm, and that Broken in half ladder was FUN to traverse- we didn't want to Rappel down if we could use the ladder, so 9 of us stood on top of the "ST Pete" cooler, then moved the ladder down so 8 of us could use it to descend- one actually jumped off the cooler (military guy) the owner instantly got all over his ass- we did the explore, and not one of the 9 got so much as a scratch
