| | | | My problem with this is not that they trust their hands (many rock climbers do, and I suspect they are so as the one-handed pull-up and cross-through-moves suggest)... the problem is that they trust the construction. Some of the stuff they're moving on are bomber, while others... not so much.
The worst thing that can happen to a young man who feels he is invincible (mostly due to excellence in some ability over the common person) is to meet another who feels the same way... and they manage to get-along to become friends. Escalation and one-upsmanship is inevitable, until tragedy.

I would hope these guys do some experimenting before they trust the structure... I've had plenty of manhole rungs (including modern plastic ones) break off or pull out of the masonry underground, so I try to test them before putting all my weight on one!
