| | | | 2013 review, 2 weeks late < on 1/17/2014 1:20 AM >
| | | 2013 was only my second year with a DSLR (Canon 60D), but I feel like I've improved a lot. In retrospect though, I think I might be getting a little too wrapped up in post-processing; I blame my desire to get into graphic design (album art and such) and my recent obsession with Midnight-Digital's work. Maybe this year I'll try to take a step back and see what happens. Anyways, here are my faves from 2013, in chronological order: 01.

This year I also contributed two photos as album art for Cold Tear Records; one for Goran Geto's "Diving to Deep (Dub Techno Edition" and one for Shogun Spy's "Falling Slowly Falling Deeply". The photo used for the Shogun Spy album isn't my favorite, but the other one I'm happy with. (Also, I didn't do any of the text on the covers, just the photos).
Goran Geto - Diving to Deep (Dub Techno Edition) by FloodSpectre, on Flickr I hope to do some more of this in 2014 but I want to learn more about Photoshop so I can do more interesting things with the portions of the cover that need text. Oh, and he's my first photo of 2014, seeing as we're already 2 weeks in...

| | | Somehow I've only started seeing your work in the last six months. You seem intuitive with composition and ways to relate spaces to one another, some of these photos are the best comps I've seen all year. Congrats on your works, good luck for 14!

| | | As always your stuff is amazing. I'm always trying to catch up to you! But your shots are always pretty sweet and I agree that the compositions are great as well. A few of them seem high on the contrast but that's me nitpicking trying to find something for you to work on. Honestly just go with the flow and see where your interest go or what you want to improve on. I can't find much to give you any constructive criticism about. I hope your 2014 is just as productive and hopefully I'll see you out n about!

I am all about Agalloch my friend.
Posted by macgruder Nice work, but yeah a bit heavy on the contrast.

I definitely catch myself cranking the contrast and levels up more than necessary pretty often. Maybe I'll try to curb that a bit in 2014.

Once it starts warming up I'll have to get myself in gear again. Let me know if there's anywhere you don't feel like exploring alone and I'll tag along if you want. There's still so much to see yet.
