| | | Dixie Square Mall was located in the south suburbs of Chicago, and is the original "dead mall" that was made famous in its cinematic destruction for the 1980 cult-favorite: The Blues Brothers. It was an 800,000 square foot cesspool of 70s funk and retail history that I couldn't get enough of... This is raw footage - YouTube says at least five hours worth - from all 13 visits I made there in its final years: from 2009 to 2012, when it was finally demolished only through the state tapping into Hurricane Ike disaster relief funding. Enjoy! (Don't mind the frequent, sleep-deprived teenage ramblings and narrations.) https://www.youtub...i9cN9zQ1htbIE15qTL
