Was able to get a tour today at one of Georgia's near abandoned mental hospitals. The three buildings we saw were built in 1884, 1928, and 1947.

1.

The protruding section behind the wire looks into a main room where patients' beds were lined along the wall.

2.

A patient room, where the curtain still remains intact, overlooking the pecan grove.

3.

4.

An old patient rooms stands open with the attached food tray protruding from the door. The curtain and mattress remain as the last reminders that this room was once a home to patients

5.

6.

A main room and remains of a desk that could have once welcomed patients daily.

7.

8.

9.

A light sits neglected in the morgue, watching as the room crumbles around it.

10.

Thank you! And there's only one security patrol guy that I saw for 2 and a half hours, but if you're interested in photographing, call and ask about a tour, they were really accommodating of me.

If you did this one with an official blessing than you are indeed the BOSS. Nice shots, I always loved the nurses desk in #6, looks like a lot of standing water in there now.
