House and junkyard in WI

I first discovered this house a few years ago looking for locations to have a photo shoot for my band. It turned out to be the perfect place for it, but it's also just an incredibly awesome place on its own.

My band in the only house on the property...I'm gonna have to fix that seam at some point.

View from the back - that's a junked squad car on the far right

One of the bandmates in the old stone barn

Inside a school bus in the junkyard that had been converted into a home. Later found a bunch of dirty magazines and newspapers, some of which were pretty disturbing.

The whole place is pretty extensively overgrown, but it's not much of a problem in the winter. This summer, though, a big windstorm/tornado ripped through the area, and now the whole place looks completely different. The barn roof is even more collapsed than it was before, and the barn itself is probably not very safe to enter. Several trees fell down and took out a bunch of stuff with them.

Also some weird graffiti showed up which, as far as I know, has nothing to do with anyone I've brought there.

Not sure which tank.

These used to be two mobile homes, but they totally burned down at some point in the last 9 months. It looks like the fire bent those trees over.

Under the silo behind the barn I discovered a spider corpse that been completely overtaken by mold - I've never seen that before.

I'm realizing now I don't have enough structural shots of this place. I'll probably aim for that next time. This is a place well worth revisiting multiple times.

I was pretty pissed to find those trailers burnt down. At least the better of the 3 is still there.
And screw whoever "Trik" is.

So, you're like.. juggalos?

Yeah, it must have been deliberate, considering none of the trees surrounding the trailers burned down.

Nah, not juggalos. We're a metal band/orchestra based out of Lawrence University, and that's black metal facepaint, like Immortal or Mayhem.

Well, thank goodness for that. What's your band name? I have a hard time reading most metal band names.

Never been here but I've seen plenty of pictures of it. This is the house that has the police car outside of it right? I like the photo of your whole band inside the house, it would have been kind of cool to have some of them peeping out from the basement windows too.

Don't feel bad relik, I spent a solid 30 seconds trying to read that before I gave up. You might want to chose a more legible band logo lol. It will be hard for people who see it to look you up later.

Yeah, there are plenty of sets of this house out there. I haven't posted a set from here because of that reason.

I would assume Black Metal because of the surroundings, the face paint style, the name of the band, and the band name text style.

That has been established. I figured from the band logo, initially.

You know, a nice traditional name.

Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing.

We would have done that but the floor of the basement was much lower than the windows. Although some of the guys did nearly fall through the first floor to the basement for that shot...

The logo is HMELU - Heavy Metal Ensemble of Lawrence University (with an umlaut over the M, naturally).

Your band bears an amazing resemblance to a group of performers characterized by funny make-up and clothing who were gathered together by a sheriff to help search for a criminal, but who were hindered from doing so by a series of mental disorders!

I know junkyard, but who is this explorer named house?

If you want to protect the locations you love to explore, don't talk about them online in public!
If you want to make exploring friends, send people private messages! Meet up in real life! Get off the internet!
Don't try to have a UER e-penis! You won't impress anyone! This especially means you, Minneapolis MN newbies!
