Weekend at Bernie's

What a great introduction to the first day of winter in southern Ontario - the worst ice storm of the year. I am sitting here listening to fire calls... emergency response has been non-stop for an hour; everything from power-lines arcing with icy trees leaning against them to a guy getting rescued off the roof of his car in a flooded area of Welland.

Here's a few warmer pics to take you back to the beach. Nothing special here at all. I have been waiting to try and get interiors here to make a post a bit more worthwhile but I've got nothing else on my list out here and do not want to keep spending gas $$$ checking it. Besides, I couldn't think of a better post to try and counter the shit overnight weather.

This ice storm is really crazy. I think RockNRoll called it the Icepocalypse. Which sounds pretty accurate.

I'll be driving six hours tomorrow including the 400/401, I hope most of the ice is over with. While I admit there is some tranquility in driving through falling snow, major highways are not a pleasant place to be driving slow.

Already fed up with this winter, it's dark and depressing.

No, they did, but there are plenty of ways around it now. Users decrypt and feed the signal back into Internet. So really, any cell phone with a data plan can be used as a fire department and police scanner now. Check your area and see what is available:

It's surreal to see these summer photos with the falling snow flakes that Av added to the Christmas theme.
