Can anyone in LA provide some floor or couch space for a weary traveller early January? Maybe show me a couple of locations and in return I'll buy the beer/spirits/etc? I want to spend a little bit of time in LA but I don't think I'll be able to afford a hotel or even a hostel in the city. I mean Mexico is a cool place but my Spanish is less than beginner level and I feel like such an outsider gringo... I'm in Peru at the moment and fly to Mexico at the end of this month. After getting to Mexico I'm going to make my way to LA by bus and fly out of LA on the 16th or 17th. I can either stay in Mexico up until close to the time I fly out and bus to LA last minute or if someone could put me up at their place for a short time I could go to LA earlier. Yet in the past few months I met up with people from New York, Schuykill Haven (PA), Chicago and Denver/Boulder through this very site. Also had someone offer to show me around Boston but I didn't have enough time to fit it in. They were amazing people and, dare I say it, probably weren't the type to judge a person by how many online stars one has or how much time one spends posting to forums.
