Nothing good comes out of talking to the police. Ever.

i loved that video!
however that only works if youre getting arrested for a larger crime or think you might be
if youre just trespassing, it might be best just to explain the situation as clearly and plainly as possible instead of not talking at all

Apparently that DID just happen. And I AM proud of it

Seriously, this. Most LEOs (in my experience) don't care about this sort of petty bullshit and will usually only hassle you if you're a dickwagon or if they're forced to (someone calls you in they HAVE to do something about it. They spot you on their own they can pretend it never happened, that sort of thing.) don't be a dick, just cooperate on the simple stuff and it'll all go smoothly 9 times out of 10.

Withhold your ID because you don't HAVE to produce it or any of that other pedantic bullshit that just makes everyone's life harder and they'll make your life a LOT harder and hassle you or slap you with charges. Don't dig yourself into a hole unless you HAVE to.

I do security on the weekends. So if i go out in my uniform it can and has come in handy as far as dealing with the cops. I just say i am working the site and when the cop leaves i do.

You get what you give when it comes to cops around here. Also don't dress like a fucking tool or like you are about to infiltrate the pentagon.

Do you know jim or jim knows you?

LMAO! Exactly! It also helps to find out a property owners name before you hit a spot then explore it on a Sunday or a holiday so if you get caught you can say "Oh Bob knows we are here" and if the pd try to reach "Bob" they most likely will get his voicemail.

The question is not when are we gonna stop, It's who's gonna stop us?

I always give my ID when asked. I just give them my military ID, they usually trust that I'm not doing anything malicious (which I'm not). Another thing that helps is the rather large camera on my neck. An actual vandal or thief doesn't carry around a camera.

Don't be assholes to cops and they won't be assholes to you. It's rather simple.

Most of my experiences with police, aside from one, have been positive. What we do breaks laws, and it's their jobs to stop that. However if you have this "fuck the police" attitude, of course they'll go harder on you compared to someone who was polite and understanding of the situation.

I mentioned it in another topic, recently we were doing a night scope of a property which turned out to be alarmed. The police showed up we had two options, try to run in the snow covered property where they could trace our footsteps as they were coming around the corner or as soon as I saw the search light come on make sure you're fully visible with your hands not hidden. I approached the cruiser and introduced myself but didn't give any details unless asked. I said good evening how's everything going.

You know you're trespassing right? We're just checking out the place walking around it's a pretty cool place. The cop started up a conversation with us, although his partner I could tell wanted to show who had the authority there but they were both cool and just told us stories about the property and asked what we were doing and said we should just call the owners to see if we can get an escort next time.

Not sure! But impersonating an officer gets you out of a lot of jams

I was pretty straight, as were the others with me when we were busted trespassing, with backpacks of beer, some knives, a grill, and a revolver. The cops were pretty straight right back and let us go. I'd say that went better than it would have it we had been noncompliant fuckbags, since we would have probably ended up being put in bracelets and given a free ride.

Beer and revolvers do not mix. I don't have a problem personally with defensive weapons + UER in rural areas but I think alcohol and firearms = bad idea. Do you have a CCL? Surprised they let you go so easily. I know people who have had similar experiences though.

"I know a lot of the officers and agents keep their drivers license in their badge holder so it's obvious that they are law enforcement if they get pulled over. I hear it works pretty well in most cases."

Yup, have one in the family...I jokingly refer to it as his get out of jail free card.

I need one...
