|  | | | Now that the winter snow is starting, perhaps a quick jaunt to warmer, tropical weather is in order!
These are the ruins of the English garrison Fort Shirley, located on a peninsula just north of Portsmouth, at the northern end of the Caribbean island of Dominica. Nearby Indian River is where the Swamp Witch scenes of Pirates of the Caribbean were filmed; 2nd last pic is an old abandoned cabin along the river now dubbed The Witch's House after its use in the movie.
