Any more shots of the caboose in number 2? Or the flat car? What was that on it? Very good shots.

Good find! I especially like #6.

You've put trains on my list, I would love to find an abandoned car way out in the middle of nowhere like this.

Glad you liked them. That's a small dragline shovel on the flat car. Here's the full set....

Here's a little piece on the bucket/shovel debate, with all due respect Astro.

http://www.bigbrutus.org/about.html

This is within close driving distance of me, if you UER folks would like to see pics I would happily oblige. Stats as follows.....

•Bucyrus Erie model 1850B
• largest electric shovel in the world
•16 stories tall (160 feet)
•weight 11 million pounds
•boom 150 feet long
•dipper capacity 90 cu. yds (by heaping, 150 tons
— enough to fill three railroad cars.)
•maximum speed .22 MPH
•cost $6.5 million (in 1962)

PS. I've rappelled off the main boom before when it was much less watched after(1980's yeah I'm old FTW)

PSS. Doing some research via tha interwebs (since I'm insecure) I find that the bucket/shovel terminologies are somewhat interwoven. What I was sure was a shovel may well be a bucket depending on the application. I don't know what device may have wielded the "object" in my most expertly taken photographs! So Astro, I will yield the discussion to you. I would guess that it would depend on where the bucket/shovel was attached and in that I have no idea. I humbly apologize if I was incorrect and likewise I look on you with disgust if I was in fact correct! LOL!(Sarcasm is implicit here, like you can't see it on my face!) Anyway, do you want to see a big fucking shovel/bucket wielding bastard like BIG BRUTUS or not? (you do!!!) Please let me know, or don't. Fuck you if you don't, I'm going tomorrow!

With all due respect, that's an electric shovel, not a dragline.

Note the bucket, or shovel, for an electric shovel has the shiv housing directly above it and don't have the attachments for the drag chains, on the front, that are on a proper dragline.

Here is a dragline

Note it is not the same machine. I know that's a NorthWest machine BUT if you want to argue JUST BUCYRUS ERIE, I can do that, too.

Alright, notice that it NOT the same as a Electric Shovel. Now, Big Brutus is one hell of a remarkable STEAM SHOVEL. But if you want to argue remarkable BIG machines, say hello to Big Muskie. The largest dragline ever built (I have a a scale model of her in my office)

Note, that is still not the same as an electric shovel.

Alright, now that we know the difference, lets looks at buckets. I notice the one in your pic is a Hendrix bucket.

Here are some more.

This is mine off the Bucyrus Erie that I posted above.

Fin.

Edited because I a accidentally called it a steam shovel and not an electric shovel. (Advanced technology)

Astro, I edited my post so yours is no longer correct, I WIN!!! Just kidding, I think we were editing at the same time. You are far more correct than I was(I really hope my dry sense of humor is not lost here like everywhere else) Anyway thank you for setting the record straight. Do you want to see a really big fuckin' shovel or what?

Due to the fact I quoted yours before you edited yours, mine is still correct in making the point I was making.

and honestly, shovels are okay, so whatever. Draglines are mah babies.

Damn Astro, I think you took things way more seriously than I did (there's a LOT of sarcasm in there, self directed {directed at my self by the way}. Anyway you know your stuff and I don't, I yield to you, I was full of shit. Can we be friends? Do you want to see Big Brutus? I have very little to offer UER in my little corner of the world, but I can offer that. I will even place my skull under the bucket/shovel of the machine for a picture. You can place a caption that says "Told you he was a stupid motherfucker" LOL! I don't take offense, I really hope you don't either. YOU KNOW YOUR SHIT ASTRO! BTW where the fuck is Aggieland? I'm gonna avoid that place like the plague, too many people that know shit. (this was just humor)

I don't want this to go the wrong way again seriously I don't but I get the feeling you are not a man as it says in your profile, am I correct? If I am incorrect I will delete the text of my post. Either way I mean nothing by it, just an observation.
