UER newby here. I'm going into some tunnels tomorrow with some friends and I was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice?

in the grim darkness of the far future...

Look for cameras and motion detectors. Do a quick google search for articles about people that were arrested there. That might tell you something about security as well as how hard they are on people caught there.

You might also want to check the local obituaries for students or workers who were killed by burst pipes. That will give you some idea of areas to avoid.

Easy there... No need to act like I'm attempting to steal some information off of you. Would it make you feel better if I asked a less simple question? What would these steam tunnels be for?

Don't burn yourself, have fun getting into all sorts of cool spaces in various buildings afforded to you by access through the tunnels. College campuses have a lot of underutilized spaces, often with interesting stories to them. Another bonus is that students are very unlikely to face legal repercussions unless engaging in theft or serious B&E. (<-- don't do that)

sometimes they look like this

Picture 133 by rescueme1060, on Flickr

and most of the time they will carry underground utilities such as steam, sewer service, electrical conduit and all the other stuff that supports a building or a campus that they didnt want to put above ground

sometimes you'll come across a messload of crap like this, which was interesting to look at but not much else unless you're a scrapper...but you'll probably get arrested if you screw around with the stuff you find in said tunnels

Oh RescuedMeet, you're such a boyscout.

Weren't you the one who got all over my case for POSTING IN A SECTION OF THE FORUM I DIDN'T LIVE IN?

Don't you realize that makes you an absolute hypocrite, when you turn around afterwards, and do the same thing?

At least you're not the only one to publicly admit that the mods don't DO THEIR JOB just because I'm the one who's pushing for them to take action.

Funny, usually I only get messages on Facebook about that, from the other dozen people who notice it.

Know why I talk down to you?

You made a bitch-fit about me posting from "out of my area", and then you post here. .... out of your area.

you're a fucking hypocrite.

What other reason do I need to talk down to you? Jesus christ dude.

Do I believe that you have the RIGHT to say what you wish, and come off as a hypocritical tool and a douchebag? Yes. Yes I do.

Do I believe that I have the right to call you on your shit, and point out that you're being a hypocrite, and tool, and a douchebag? Yes. Yes I do.

Because that's where all the bodies are hidden, and they don't want anyone to know.

This particular steam tunnel was made of bricks and barely had enough room to stand up in, it was dusty b/c with every step I took I kicked up nasty crap that was all over the ground, so bring a dust mask to put in your back pocket if you feel like it. I also have pictures of different sorority/fraternity tags that I found in the tunnels, I just dont have them saved to flickr so I'll have to find them on the other computer.

Basically you dont want to make too much noise while you're in the tunnels and constantly keep an eye out for motion lights, cameras and all the other goodies. I purposefully turned on the light switch when I went down to these tunnels b/c it was more convienient and I didnt feel like I was going to get in trouble down there since the fraternity kids seem like they go in all the time.
