Rurex? Today I learned. Nice filler material, it must have been a slow news day.

Damn, anyone with a keyboard qualifies as a journalist these days... At least the light cast is of a positive context, even if the words make you question their english teacher's choice in profession.

I can't count how many internet "media" reports I've read (even from very creditable sources) and even printed NEWSPAPER articles that have the most TERRIBLE grammar. It's a pretty good sign that things are going downhill when you pick up a fucking newspaper, and after reading a few articles you say to yourself "damn, I wrote better than this when I was in 6th grade..."
Give a person a match and they'll be warm for a minute, but light them on fire and they'll be warm for the rest of their life. =) |

A Rob Ford scandal or two, and The Star will be off UE'ers backs again.
Keep it fuzzy. |

| | | I receive one or two of these requests a week. Have your pick...
I'm a filmmaker and photographer based in the Toronto area and have been following the site and the beautiful photos the membership produces. From time to time locations pop up that I would love to photograph myself, but more and more I am thinking that a short documentary about these abandoned places and the people who delve into them might be even better. I'd be interested to speak to you about this, just in a preliminary way, to see what your thoughts might be. You can peruse my web site to see some of my previous work: davidridgen.com.
I operate under strictest confidentiality, as you can see from the topics I have covered. So, any concerns about privacy and protecting identities in such a project should be alleviated. I see this short doc as a kind of experimental piece that would highlight the beauty of places that continue (and grow on their own) long after we are gone. Thanks for your time. Best, David Ridgen
Hi there, I am the features editor for the Charlatan, Carleton University''s newspaper, and I'm planning an article about urban exploration. While I realize most of your photos are rural, I think interviewing a photographer for this organization would add a great deal to the article. Let me know who might be available to talk to one of my writers. Thanks! [email redacted] [last edit 9/9/2013 8:13 AM by Intrinsic - edited 1 times]

| | | How do you respond to them? Do you ever see if they're interested in groups/anal?

Most of the time I don't respond, if I do it's to let them know I'll forward their message to potentially interested people. I no longer do interviews. Answer to the second question is no.
