So if you want to share, what's some your most embarrassing moments. It can be anything you deem embarrassing.

For me, it's was one of my first explores and and my first one with friends. My friends where even less prepared than me and where pretty spooked already, and I was a pretty big pussy at that time. So we heard a creak up stairs and my considerably tougher friends got nervous. We left and came back 20 minutes later. When we got there my one friend grabbed some glass and my other friend grabbed a "pipe light" and we went up stairs and checked the whole floor and found nothing. NO ONE COULD BE THERE! I heard what sounded like someone saying "AYE"....we threw down what we where holding and ran down the stairs, out the building.....across a very busy street...and hurried several blocks up the street....

Or the time I took 57 pictures of a pool...

Well I have ulcerative colitis, which only really seems to be a problem when I go into subway tunnels. Sometimes it gives me gas, sometimes it bleeds, only rarely is it hilarious.

Just last weekend, I was leading three friends into a tunnel under construction. We got down to the tunnel, and I pointed to everyone "Go that way" and hid behind some equipment so I could take a phantom dump. But they interpreted this as me ducking for cover to not be seen by someone, and they all took up hiding positions. One guy started to come over just as I was zipping up, and I said "No, go that way." Fortunately nobody glimpsed me doing it, but it would be hard to cover what I was doing.

No, I did not take a phantom dump in a worker's toolbox or anything, just in the dirt where it will get washed away by the next rain.

I had to Shit so bad one time at the incinerator in ft worth I took a dump in one of the many dryers laying about. Had no tp so had to remove my shirt and do what had to be done. Explaining to the others where my shirt went was the embarrassing part.

This thread was designed for me. I have a lot of these.

When I was at seapex I, last June, it was cold and rainy. we were doing rooftops and I decided to do nudes. Someone else was taking the photo, I had left my clothes in a dry spot, away from the ledge. When we finished the photos, I went to go put my clothes back on and there were a lot of people there suddenly they has been watching us take pics. I decided to hold my head high and just walk to go get my clothes. In the process, I slipped on the slick roof, and basically slip n side about 10 feet into the group, on my bare ass.

Yeah, though I always know to carry TP around with me, because the washrooms here can't be trusted to provide it. It's now one of the few items I carry with me everywhere.

It was my first date with a guy who was a photographer, so I decided to take him to an abandonment in his hometown that he had never been to. While we were there, we got apprehended by train yard police and were asked to leave the property. The cop watched as we exited the building we were in, and as I was stepping over a giant debris pile to leave through the entrance we had used, I smashed my face on a massive i-beam, in front of the cop and my date.

I could sit in a bathroom all day, evacuate everything but the minute I step into an abandonment....gurgle gurrrgle, rummble. Sometimes I can fight it off but there have a been a couple times I have lost the battle. The worst one was when I was exploring with some new friends. We were in the middle of no where. I was probably in there for about 10 minutes and here it comes. I fought it off for a bit, praying it would pass. It got so bad I packed up my camera and just sat on some stairs hoping it would go away. Pretty soon I had no choice. I found what I thought was a secluded place, and did what I had to do. Just as I'm pulling up my pants someone who was meeting us at the site shows up the instant I'm half naked. He said he didn't see anything but I think he was just being polite. I was still mortified.

Here's three for your entertainment:

For a good three year stretch every-fucking-time I went to Byberry, (a now-demolished Philadelphia insane asylum) which was a few times per week, I fell down hard. I would trip over something in the dark, slip on moss or other assorted abandonment goo, trip over my own two feet, slide on leaves, walk backwards with the camera and tumble over whatever, step in a water-filled hole, tripped over air molecules... you get it.
Of course I was always alcoholically-challenged and oft-times other balance-defeating substances worked their way into my consumption while staggering about the hospital. It got so bad I'd get applause and laughter. If I didn't fall down, people got concerned if I was "feeling okay".
*
Walking in on a hooker blowing her "customer" in an inner-city ghetto abandoned factory. I made eye contact with the dude from across the floor, we both smiled and nodded and I hit the stairs to another floor.
*
Wandering around Byberry (again) in the dark outside, getting poison-ivy from hanging vines (up until then, I just thought it was a 6" plant on the ground).
Now getting poison-ivy by accident during an explore (more like a "drink-a-thon") might not seem like a big deal.
I did it hammered at 3 in the morning and then proceeded to take a good half-dozen more beer-pisses and wiped the sweat off my face every ten minutes. Upon my drunken arousal the next morning, I resembled the Elephant Man with a penis that could've been mistaken for a sea-cucumber. It wasn't the proudest moment of my life and I had to go into hiding until it cleared-up.

"Are you happy now with all the choices you've made?" "Are there times in life when you know you should've stayed?"
"Will you compromise and then realize the price is too much to pay?" "Winners and losers... which one will you be today?"

and here i thought your story would have been the one you told us that day in philly about falling through a floor and being saved by your breastesus!!! haha.
overall the winner seems to be having to take a deuce the moment you walk into an abandoned building and i am certainly no different in that regard. in the tunnels at KPPC i was told to 'watch out for that beam' just before i proceeded to walk straight into the fucking thing...

If you can handle frequent and random nudity as well as laugh at your own (and my) embarrassing things, I am pretty sure we still have a fucking blast!

Here's one I'm kind of proud of. At a meetup of mostly new people I'd never met before, I was leading them on a walk I've done a few times, and we're passing by this big empty dirt lot that used to be really interesting. I said to one of the girls there, "This used to be an abandoned red-light district--I used to have a lot of fun here." The kind of thing you realise sounds bad a minute after you say it.

This one isn't too embarrassing, as much as its me being stupid and stubborn (happens a lot).

So I was heading up through Ohio to visit my grandmother, and I was looking for this one old amusement park next to a lake I wanted to shoot, and I knew it was over grown and my gps showed lots of streets near the water on one side of the lake. So I was like fuck that it must be on the other side.

I spent over an hour looking for it on foot or in the car. I drove back and forth so many times someone started trailing me. At one point I was walking along the lake on a shitty path in the forest look for an amusement park.

I gave up at one point and decided to swing down through the side where there where some houses and streets. So plain as day it was right there.

I was in a hospital with a few other people and we found a pull able wagon with bars (imagine a mobile police cell) so I hopped in and my friends pulled around. When the fun was over, they started to walk away and tried to get out but it could only be opened from the outside. So there I was just sitting in a pitch black basement asking them to come back.

Other embarrassing moment my first meet-up with a fellow explorer. A van pulled up to the building we were in so we tried sneaking around to the other side. Guess who somehow managed to step on all the broken glass and debris... this guy.

Find yourself in the unknown.

one of the first times out with a group, I almost walked backwards into a hole that would have dropped me 4 floors down onto contrete. Luckily someone stopped me two steps before I would have went down. Always watched my step since then.

If you want to protect the locations you love to explore, don't talk about them online in public!
If you want to make exploring friends, send people private messages! Meet up in real life! Get off the internet!

← One of only 2 explorers to ever get caught out at the titan silo by the cops. Other explorer was right there with me lol.

Climbed up out of the hole and half way up the cop hit his lights. Guy knew exactly where we would be coming out of and was standing in front of his lights. You know your screwed when you see a 40ft tall shadow of a cop on the hill behind you lol.

Got to love getting popped in the middle of nowhere....
