There is salvation in the decayed...
| | | Chicken Blood < on 8/5/2013 6:28 AM >
| | | I visited this place a little over a month ago with Hootie and I am just getting around to uploading these. Excuse some of the pictures in some areas it is pitch black! This is an abandoned poultry mill somewhere in the great state of NC. Be warned if you visit though the amount of mold in this place is overwhelming.

| | | I put many a roof on these places back in the day and they are outright nasty! Great shots, thanks for sharing!

Thanks! Did you happen to put a roof on this one?

| | | Is this place abandoned ... or did you just catch it on a weekend?

It's been abandoned since '09. The mold in the place is ridiculous. Wish I had a picture of it. *Typo! [last edit 8/5/2013 3:48 PM by crownand - edited 1 times]

I'm not sure. I recognize the logo and that's the company we contracted with. The breakroom looks very familiar as we would eat with the workers sometimes in there. It almost looks like the one that's near me but I haven't been by that way in a good while so I'm not sure? We did the processing plants and the hatcheries... | | | Excellent collection. You guys did a good job lighting up the darker areas. I loved the lab photos BTW. Those are my favorites of the bunch.

Thanks Ken! Lighting up those pitch dark scenes was tough. The actual processing part of the plant was black and the lunch room was as well. The lab was interesting. All of their chemicals were untouched and just lying around. If it wasn't for the plant being covered in mold and overall just nasty I would love to go for a return trip.

I've got plenty of spare gloves and 3M respirators. I'd love to poke around that lab some time.
