I really like your pictures (framing + topic), unfortunately I really think there is too much postprod on those.
HDR is too strong, and you should (imo) avoid using photoshop halo/flares (Trap pile).
Your whisky pic would be awesome without/or with less HDR

Haha, just kidding. Thanks... no actual HDR used on these, just tone-mapping, which I suppose is really the same thing. Funny, the whiskey bottle one looked a lot less white last night when I was doing it, but yes, looks like crap now. Eyes crossed perhaps. Making details jump out in post can sometimes lead to addictive self-propagation. If every photo goes just a little further it is hard to tell when you have gone too far. Thankfully I always keep originals. Thanks for the input, as this is my way of 'feeling out'.
