That's a simunition casing. Basically paintballs you can run in a real firearm with some modifications. Considering the price and availability of that stuff, I'd say the 5-0's been playing paintball tag in there.

I had a feeling that they were something like that (some sort of training). Interestingly, there's no splatters anywhere (floor/walls/etc)

Gorgeous shots! Looks like you more than made up for your fail at the first location.

Thanks! hah, actually my fail was at the 2nd location. But, all wasn't lost with it. I realized which of the roads was better to take/where to park. Now, hopefully it's not too overgrown to get into next time.

One thing I noticed with all the police tape is that there was also US Customs Service tape there as well. I've been meaning to do some research into that.

As far as the paintball casings, it almost looked like someone shot a movie in there.

Hmm...didn't notice the customs tape. Let me if you find anything out.

Really nice images and I enjoyed your nostalgic take on it. I'm surprised the piano is still there but guess it's pretty heavy to lift.

Thanks! I thought the same thing...or at least that they hadn't damaged it yet.

Just updating the thread w/ the place I missed last time due to the dog. I went back this morning, and well...you win some....you lose some. From the notice on the door, this was vacated in 2010. Looks like neighborhood kids had a good time with this place.

At one time, this was a glass enclosed sunroom type room.
