Bringing it back from the dead... [Image Heavy]

So this place hasn't been posted in awhile even though it was done to death a couple months back, and it's since been demolished (Or so I've been told...) but I figured I'd post photos of it to Zombie-fy it a little.

I tried to re-visit with Archie and there was an open house going on next door, so access was impossible and we were watched like Hawks.

This mansion was up for sale for $45Million just a short two years ago. It was the most expensive residential building to be placed for sale in all of Canada. The property boasts 35 000 SqFt of living space in the mansion and an additional 2 story cottage plus many other outbuildings (Japanese Tea house, Greenhouse and a boathouse).

The outbuildings are planned to be preserved under the Ontario Historical Act. But the 19 year old Mansion faces (or has faced) the wrecking ball.

Done to death or not, I don't believe I've seen this one. Pity if it's gone. Old mansions have some of the neatest hidey-holes and art work. Love the reliefs and designs!

Did you ever explore the outbuildings?

Skye, IMO this is by far your best post ever. The symmetry and composition of some of these images is quite stellar. Well done.

Kojaks, shots of the Japanese tea house, the greenhouse and an exterior of the boathouse are at the bottom of this post...

Hey, I was just there a little over 2 weeks ago. It's still standing and it seems its going to be that way for another couple of weeks at least.

The focus is on constructing the housing units on the other side of the property.

I think they wisely decided to leave the green house alone.

Also, your pictures are really good. All of mine from that day turned out horribly (I left my ISO on 2000, don't ask me why because I can't tell you).

You have an eye for composition, a lesser man would be envious.

I haven't had cereal since the Chrétien years.

Good to hear they're keeping some stuff.
Which is the Japanese tea house?
This thing?
Didn't look Japanese, nor did it make me feel like drinking tea.

The sign said "Anybody caught trespassin will be shot on sight"
So I jumped on the fence and I yelled at the house,
"Hey! What gives you the right?" http://www.flickr.com/photos/evman/

I've seen "the hole" in #17 far too many times in the last year, but you're shot is by far the most nicely composed of the whole whack. All it needed was that bit of an angle and some nice floor reflection from the nearby window and it looks completely different and much more interesting.

Sure, sure. Blame it on the mouse...

As Jerm said, there are some really good compositions in here. It's hard for me to choose a favorite shot, but the window views of the bay/lake/ocean/body of water are amazing. The location itself is fantastic as well, though it's a pity it's trashed.

Top-notch work here, Skye!

Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing.
