Errr... not hating but do you have locations? AnApple has some pretty good ones for triangle area I've been to two of the meetups he's hosted. If you guys want to travel about an hour north of durham I can open up a whole host of other areas.

This state is so big and flat, driving is always needed. I am game for any place, even with an extended drive. At least this isnt like the MAMU II meetup that was half in southern NC and half in central TN... Now THAT was a lot of driving The Durango '95 purred away a real horrowshow - a nice, warm vibraty feeling all through your guttiwuts. And soon it was trees and dark, my brothers, with real country dark.

I used to know tons of locations in Raleigh, but most of mine are probably gone or inaccessible by now. But I know that there is tons of stuff around there. Also, driving an hour north would not be a problem. "You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go..." -Dr. Suess

you're from JC? I grew up down in that area, on the VA side. I'd love to make a trip back down and see some of the old places, and if they're still around. Have you checked a certain couple of schools around the Dante area? I think one is gone by now.

Sounds awesome! I'm definitely down for the 7th of September. I'm leaving for India for 6 months so it will be good to get a trip in before I'm off. Wonder what the urbex scene is out there...

Yes! I was afraid that this thread had died, I am hoping that this meetup is still happening! Everyday is an exploration! Go out and do something new today :D

Sounds interesting, would be nice to get out of Winston and GBO for once! Raleigh might be a bit far out, but I'd be down to go out on the 7th depending on the location! http://www.flickr.com/photos/urbanmez/

Okay folks, looks like we need a local organizer that has locations. Without someone stepping up to the plate then this wont work. Anyone know locations in Raleigh so that this can happen? Keep in mind that the locations need to be appropriate to the amount of people that are coming or there need to be other places that people can go to if some of the spots can only be done by 2 or 3 people at a time.
I havent lived in NC long enough to be useful, but having gone to many many meets I can tell you for sure that if you dont have one or more local organizers, everything will fall apart. I dont want to see a group of excited people just standing in downtown Raleigh with nothing to do but get some food. If there is not anything organized on Saturday I am still going out shooting. No agenda. No locations planned. No set direction. I can drive within a 3-4 hour radius of Charlotte.
