here is an interesting article i noticed on the cbc website:
http://www.cbc.ca/stories/2004/07/06/canada/frank_security040706

instead of the "looking for a bathroom" line, they used the "looking for the library", and had press passes.

i put this in "main" section to get opinions from people in other countries. if this is wrong, i guess it'll be moved.

Interesting read indeed... to bad after that was released the parliament buildings probably jacked up there security or at least know not to trust anyone "looking for the library" again.

Here's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you.

Cooper and I discovered several unlocked doors last summer while looking around on the hill. The West Block building was surprisingly untended.

The Centre Block was well guarded but we were able to walk right into a private area and stand there for a minute before someone asked us to leave.

I would be very careful how far you push your luck though, the sheet could hit the fan rather quickly if you meet someone having a bad day.

in august 2001 a friend and i decided to go up to the peace tower. after scanning our bags, security pointed us down a hallway, smiled, and went back to their conversation. needless to say, we got hopelessly lost, and ended up rather deep inside the building, wandering aimlessly for about an hour before we happened upon a security guard who hadn't even known we were there, but happily escorted us to the tower elevator.
