| | Any recommendations for places to paint? < on 5/19/2013 3:08 PM >
| | | Hello, this is my first spring in Baltimore and I'd like to find a quiet and interesting place in the city or out in the country to make a painting. The ideal place would be outdoors, have some nature, some abandoned architecture, and space to not get hassled or run over. Any recommendations would be much appreciated! Thanks

Used to be some good industrial funk around there. Safe neighborhoods. Nobody bothered you. Of course this was like 10 years ago so things might have changed.

| | | Patapsco Valley State Park, particularly by Alberton Road. There's some beautiful scenery, a river, two old churches and some cars, wrecked by a hurricane decades ago and left to rot in the woods. Easy hike in too.

| | | Thanks for the recommendations! I started to look into the history of Fort Armistead and Alberton/Daniels and they're both fascinating places. I'll probably pick one to paint this weekend and try the other another time. But thanks again, this kind of stuff is what I was looking for! Any more recs would be appreciated
