| | | So I'm curious how many of you play/ know about this location based capture the hill game put out by google. http://www.ingress.com/ Because this game is all about explore and find out about your city, i Would think it to be right up my fellow explorers alleys. And the best part, it encourages taking pics of interesting, strange, unique architecture. Be there wherever you can find it. I happen to be sitting on a few invites and if anyone is also interested in playing these games and have a android phone running 2.33 and up. Let me know. But either way curious of the communities thoughts on this. CT

| | | I read the general idea but I still don't get it. Sounds interesting. If there's nobody playing it in Seoul it would be fun to dominate the whole city before anyone else catches on.

| | | Well the part of it is, if no one plays in your area, you start taking pictures of buildings and statues and art in your part of the area and start the game up in your area of the world. When you travel to other parts of the world, or different cities you can take your phone (scanner) and your items and help out your faction in that city. It's a truly world wide game. But have a look at the different youtube 'Ingress reports' (the weekly video progress update) http://www.youtube...ress?feature=watch I dunno how much this crosses over with urban exploration, but thought it worth the mention. | | | I don't really get it, just seems like a real life MMO. I guess it's better than WoW in the sense that it requires you to go outside as opposed to rotting away in your mothers basement. But I can see people becoming dangerously obsessed just the same, although the consequences would be somewhat different. In terms of combining this game with UE, seems like a bad idea. Seems to me that if you used it as an excuse if caught somewhere you shouldn't be, whoever caught you would be none too amused.

| | | I and the people I play with only place portals in locations that are public safe, maybe the picture is taken somewhere else for the angle and view, but keep the actual location nearby on the road (not worth endangering anyone). But i have used it as an excuse to be places where i shouldn't be and run in's with security guards as they are getting so used to seeing our rag tag group at the legislature building and other locations regularly. They don't even bat an eye anymore. Not that it is a good explanation as to why i would be Inside a building, but for reasons as to why i'm in a general location at 3am, works beautifully.
