This wasn't one of our people was it? Everyone accounted for?

http://blogs.seatt...-electrical-tower/

It's looking like he encountered the high voltage way up on the tower and then fell down to the 150-foot-high platform shortly afterwords.

Oh god I am hoping it was just some meth head trying to steal the wires but some explorers have no sense of danger. I guess we should just wait until they identify the body.

PS: I'd also be interested in knowing what on those towers he got shocked by. Did he grab a wire?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't actually have to grab one of the wires to get shocked up there.

There've been threads here in the past about why you shouldn't climb these towers so I'd be very doubtful it's anyone from around here.

You've got the right idea! Long story short, you don't need to touch anything to get shocked because there's enough juice flowing through transmission lines like this one that the electricity can actually "jump" off the line on to an attractive-looking conductor, or in the this case a person who has climbed one of these tower and is within a few feet of a line.

Surprisingly, research has shown that butt fuckery is positively correlated with higher intelligence.

A person who lives near the tower says he was on his deck before 1 a.m. Friday and saw an explosion with electrical popping and crackling sounds and a small fire. He says he heard a man calling for five or 10 minutes, then he apparently fell to the platform.

Shhhh!.....Shhhh!.............wait! Shhhhh!........Did.....Did you guys hear that?....thought I heard a mans cries for help over yonder where that ball of sparks just came from after that loud pop.........No?
