| | To the Home of the Bloodless Deer and Back (22 pix) < on 3/14/2013 2:56 AM >
| | | I celebrated my first and only Tuesday of spring break, 2013, with a little UE road trip. My first stop was supposed to look something like it did on google maps:
But I was too late. Bye bye....
So off to something else. On the way, found an old animal hospital.
It was at this point that I figured out what the place had been
This is fairly representative of the rest of the place, except the layer of medical detritus- meds, syringes, tubes, jars- is missing. Pretty sure the office had been fully stocked when it closed. Why did I not get a picture? I did. But dammit they're all so blurry. Apparently tripods don't work from the car.
Found on google maps, turns out it was a middle school.
As you can see, access was almost impossible.
don't do chalk, kids.
Almost no vandalism, and zero spray paint
It wasn't actually the home of the bloodless deer. It was the home of the wildcats. And they played football.
But oh yeah, there was a deer.
And its blood was by the window. See the smear in the bottom right corner?
By this time, I had seen most of the school, it was getting late, and honestly I was a little bit creeped out. So I hit the road.... and saw the roof of this house peeking over the shrubbery.
Hey buzzard
Sunset stop. This power plant is quite active, but that didn't stop the Greenpeace folks.
Thanks for looking! more on Flickr [last edit 3/14/2013 3:02 AM by sara'mer - edited 1 times]

| | | Nice set of pix. LOVE the school shots. And that badass sunset shot, too. "Apparently tripods don't work from the car." Haha, reminds of when you asked me if I had a tripod case, and I said, "Yeah, it gives me something to put my tripod in when I leave it in the car!"

Funny you mention this, I was actually thinking about this conversation when I got back home and looked through my blurry pictures!

| | | Wow! that house looked awesome. Those are my favorite, abandoned houses. Judging by the power plant, I'm only a couple of hours away. Definitely gonna try to find this soon.

| | | lol bloodless deer, that's awesome. I like to make up new names/purposes for shit too, especially to hide the real location of the place.
The nightmare corpse-city of R'lyeh…was built in measureless eons behind history by the vast, loathsome shapes that seeped down from the dark stars. There lay great Cthulhu and his hordes, hidden in green slimy vaults. |
